You can totally figure it out yourself, but if you're the type that likes to read, or need more information, I've gotcha covered!

How to Progress

There's instructions in the game too, but if you prefer something more thorough, then here you go!

This is a roguelike where you choose from 5 paths to progress towards your Trial. Choose by holding down Space (the one and only button) until your cursor is on your desired option. Then release it, and let the little timer on the left run out to confirm your choice. This little time window also lets you use a later mechanic.

You will likely encounter enemies, this is when your options change from movement to combat. Defeating an enemy gets you more of the resource they were standing on. You better gear up good before your Trial comes!

Combat

Combat is based on timing, there are no turns. 

Attacking lets you damage the enemy. Shocking, I know :) 

The better you time your attack, the more damage you do.

Sidestep, Jump, and Duck are each used to negate certain kinds of attacks, as telegraphed by the enemy, but you must time it well. 

Blocking is easy and quick to use, and can negate any attack, but it costs Shields.

Your stats

Power: More power means more damage to thy enemies.

Shields: How much damage your Block can negate.

Mana: Required for casting spells.

Sight: Allows you to see hidden enemies before you choose your path. Enemies get stealthier as the game progresses.

Spellcasting

Remember that little time window after you release your cursor? This is what it's for, casting spells! And, you know, in case you regretted your choice. That too.

Spells are used only in combat. When you release your cursor, a casting pip appears. To cast a spell you've obtained, you must input the correct pip combination. Each spell has a unique combo displayed on the screen.
